Wendy Chen, RMT
Growing up as a musician and artist, Wendy always knew she would be working with her hands. With music and art as hobbies, she found her passion in massage therapy and believes that massage is a form of self care which prepares the mind and body to achieve a higher goal both physically and psychologically. She graduated from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in Spring 2017 and since then has been providing massage therapy.
Her comforting and powerful touch gives massages that are simultaneously relaxing and therapeutic. She incorporates traditional Swedish massage, myofascial release, neuromuscular techniques and active and passive stretching throughout her treatment to effectively achieve patients’ goals. Her caring personality enables her to utilize light to firm pressure based on individual patients’ needs.
She has interests in neuroscience research in terms of the relationship between the human body and pain perception. As there is still a lot more to learn about the human body, Wendy is looking forward to continue her studies, broaden her knowledge and further develop and improve her techniques.
Outside of the clinic, she might be seen at local craft markets shopping for handmade creation, restaurants and cafes enjoying mouth watering food and tea (not coffee, but coffee aroma), the great outdoor exploring the city and various new music festivals where she performs with her fellow Gamelan members.
Wendy is in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia.
“The clinic is amazingly set-up for a very calming and therapeutic healing space. Wendy is incredibly knowledgeable, skilled, and curious to get to know her client’s needs. She has been supporting me with my chronic pain, which has been very helpful, to say the least. Another amazing quality that Wendy has is being open to connect with other healthcare providers of her client’s team, for collaborative care. Wendy also has been very accommodating, considering today’s busy modern lifestyle. Thank you Wendy!”
“I was very lucky to have met Wendy for assessments and pain relief after a car accident. She treated my issues and now I continue to rely on her for muscle tension and stress relief. Wendy is really good at listening to what your issues are and knowing exactly how and where to treat you - it's like a 6th sense! Her techniques and knowledge are impressive. Thanks Wendy!”
